Coming up in the Tumwater, WA area, join the Thurston County Coalition Against Trafficking for their 4th annual 5k Walk / Run. This events purpose is to raise awareness about human trafficking in the community and learn what YOU can do to prevent it.  The TRAFFICKING HOTLINE is 1.888.3737.888. The cost to participate in the 5K run for adults is $29, and youth 17 and under are only $10. Registration includes a t-shirt, a timing bib, and a raffle ticket towards a giveaway at the end.  The funds raised from this race go towards youth programming to prevent human trafficking and end exploitation. This is also a Fun Run so feel free to bring your family and friends. You can walk, run, skip or push a stroller - your choice just come out and have a good time!  When 500 runners register, an anonymous donor will be contributing a $5,000 match donation to the organization.

A fun idea for the race is to put together a team of your friends, coworkers, family members-  you name it! A prize will be given for the largest teams.  Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation Loan Officer, Malcolm Miller will be on site to work the event. Make sure you find Malcolm, say hello and give him  high-five!  He is the Event Director of the race and is enthusiastic about both the event and the cause it benefits. Before, during and after the race feel free to visit the variety of non-profit vendors who are aligned with the anti-trafficking mission. 

Race starts and ends at Mountain View Church located at 940 Israel Rd. Tumwater, WA 98501.  Check in is at 7:30 A.M. and the race starts at 9:00 A.M. Breakfast, refreshments and coffee will be provided! Please note that after April 15th, the prices increase to $34 and will be $39 the day of the event. Due to the charity nature of the events, refunds will not be provided.
